Sweet Treats: Chocolate Covered Fruit

During our fakeaway series, we’ve also created some sweet treats! While we’ve noticed baking has become a serious trend during lockdown with banana cakes and experimental desserts, we found ourselves in jealously that we didn’t get to visit @chocofruituk, so in theme with our recreating we wanted to do the same with this beauty.

Sweet-treats-at-home-1

It was so fun creating this but seriously messy, which could also be a fun idea to create with the young ones at home or partner. It’s all so simple but the key is presentation – we tried our best to bring our creative juices!

Chocolate Covered Fruit

Course: Dessert

Ingredients

  • handful Mini marshmallows
  • handful Mini Smarties
  • Millions and thousands sprinkles
  • 100 g White chocolate melted
  • 100 g Milk chocolate melted
  • 2 Bananas chopped
  • 5 Strawberries
  • Barbecue sticks

Instructions

  • Chop your bananas in 4 pieces each and cut the top off the strawberries. Feed your fruit, alternating or which order your wish, through the barbecue sticks.
  • Melt your chocolate in separate bowls in the microwave, 15 secs at a time, mixing in between sections, until fully melted.
  • This is where your creative can fill, pour your melted chocolate over your fruit and drizzle the second chocolate across that layer. Use a spare barbecue stick tip to add extra design and/or to mix your drizzles into each other.
  • For plating, decorate with your mini marshmallows, smarties and millions and thousands. Have fun with it and enjoy!

This looks great! And baking is a lockdown trend I am also guilty of. I want to try this but I might create a big mess in the kitchen.

These look amazing! I’ve gone the stereotypical route and have been making some banana bread haha. I want to make some more adventurous things though, so this is on the list!

We have yet to make banana bread, but the lack of flour around is proving harder than we thought!

Oh man! This looks incredible! I got into the habit recently of having fruit with chocolate spread. But this looks much nicer! And a great way to jazz up fruit if you fancy something unhealthier as well! <3

I’m sure we can all agree that chocolate covered fruit tastes amazing no matter how it’s presented but you’ve made this look incredible. I love the attention to detail with the board. You’re right, this looks like a really fun (albeit messy) one to make with kids x

I’m not a big fan of fruit, but I would most definitely give this a try – it looks so delicious and creative 🙂 You can’t go wrong with lots of chocolate and all the colourful sweet decorations! Thanks you for the inspiration! <3 xx
