More Cheese & Njummy | Zagreb Day 3

Caught up with Day 1 & Day 2?

Kava Tava – Britanski trg 1

Our tour guide from the other day told us that Croatia is not a big breakfast kind of nation, which we came to find out for ourselves as we limited and found ourselves back at Kava Tava. Not that we’re complaining as we loved our dishes yesterday but today, we have opted for some hearty grilled sandwiches and iced coffees.

Technically this was our Brunch as we’d started the day pretty late. I, Jessica chose the ham, tomato, spinach and cheese – really, the melted cheese in the picture sold me and I’m so grateful it looked exactly like it in real life! James originally wanted to copy, but he went for the egg and rocket sandwich instead. We did give each other a half and both were such great choices.

Njummy – Ilica 24

For dinner, we have searched for somewhere cheap near the Funicular where we were at the time and Njummy came up highly recommended on the list. Njummy was pretty much hidden away in an alley from the main street, which we found quite odd.

Once we were inside, we were the only ones in there. Although the interesting tables had caught our attention. Each table was different from the next, some had different currency money, some had wine corks etc. No table was the same, but the lighting let us down with attempting to create the best instagram picture.

The food was delicious and was just what we needed, a proper full meal with a side of fries to share. Both getting chicken but in different ways. This meals was actually the most expensive out of all meals we’ve had here, a whooping £16 all together!

Overall, our stay in Zagreb has been probably the most calmest and cheapest places we’ve eaten so far, every meal we’ve had here had cost us more than £14 (except for the one above) and that’s for both of us, including drinks.

Gosh that cheese tootsie grabbed my attention, it looks delicious even though I can't have it. Oh and £16 for 2 meals, if only the meals out on our recent holiday were that cheap 😊.
