TöLTő – Wesselényi u. 31, 1077
Our first day in Budapest and we’re already on the roll with finding cheap eats, and this time, it’s what we’d call cheap eats, even cheaper maybe. We found a few places close to each other in the area where we are currently staying through TripAdvisor, and a whole street full of cheap eats and street food from just walking around exploring.
We found TöLTő close to the top of TripAdvisor rankings, so made the short walk over. Just a small place with a few tables, we were lucky enough to get one and enjoy these incredible hotdogs! One had paprika and chilli sausage, and the other had wild boar sausage with shiitake mushrooms. Both equally as tasty, spicy and a great way to start our Budapest culinary adventures!
In between our exploring, we thought it was the prefect time to have a midday cocktail and take a break from all the walking. Although not as cheap as Prague, we’d already figured out that drink prices are cheaper than what you’d typically get in the UK, and we’ll be making the most of that! Refreshing and simple, it was just what we needed to continue our explorations of Budapest!
Ramenka – Kazinczy u. 9, 1075
On our way back to our AirBnb, we decided to have an early dinner on the street we found earlier in the day. Surprisingly we’d both never had Ramen in a restaurant before, but we have had the similar Pho many times. This was the perfect opportunity to give it a try, and we loved it! With the weather a little cooler today, it was a hearty meal that was much needed ahead of our plans later that night, which you can read about in our travel post!
