It’s our last full day in Berlin as we leave bright and early tomorrow morning to head off to sunny Prague, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
This morning we woke up reasonably early as we were on a mission, checking out of our AirBnb and backpacking to our next location of where we’ll be staying tonight – which you can read over on the travel blog.
Once we dropped our bags, we were on the hunt for coffee, with some recommendation we headed around the corner to find a gem. Captured by the sign ‘coffee with a conscience’ as all proceeds go to their shared house which is the refugee community here.
Address – Lenaustraße 4
We’re all for good coffee and doing a good deed with what we can do to help. Plenty of space inside, we had a choice of where to sit, each area somewhat had a different feel, but we of course found a corner with the best lighting (bloggers for you!)
As well as coffee, again we both had a sandwich each, one vegan and the other vegetarian, both delicious!
Address – Mehringdamm 36
For lunch, we debated for a while with what we wanted, and mostly due to the lack of time, we wanted to make most of our hop on hop off tour which we knew was ending shortly. But we just had to find the best place for some currywurst!
Apparently no trip to Germany is complete without some currywurst, so we obviously had to go to the best of the best and Curry 36 was our top choice, which is rated in the top 10 places for a delicious lunch. Can’t go wrong with that now can we?
We both have never had currywurst before, so we have nothing to compare it to but it was just what we needed to fuel us for the rest of the day! 2 currywurst a with fries, a solid meal for €5.20 is not too bad! There were many options for much cheaper but non that we actually understood.
Address – Weserstraße 208
With another long day being a tourist, we opted for an earlier night than usual as mentioned earlier, we are staying somewhere new which was so exciting, and of course you can read and see all about it here.
So ordering food, getting a take-away we’re on the cards as we simply didn’t want to leave our cute little cabin. But we found something quick and easy to eat, and just around the corner. Pizza! Cheap slices of pizza. €2.50 a slice!
It’s been a day of cheap eats which has set us up perfectly for the long of day of walking and exploring, without stuffing our stomachs too much. Hopefully we can continue to find places like this on the rest of our trip.
We wonder what Prague will have in store…
