Afternoon Tea: Snowflake Gelato – Selfridges, London

IT IS AFTERNOON TEA WEEK!! And what better what to kick it all off with!

Did we not say in our last Afternoon Tea post at Cutter & Squidge that our next one would be a little different to the traditional? Well we didn’t even know it would be this different, but here we are having ice cream afternoon tea! Everything from the sandwich cake to the macaroons to the canoli’s were filled with ice cream – amazing!

I, James recently did some research at work into the most popular food types in London in 2016, and Afternoon Tea came out on top! In my research, I came across this place which is part of the Foodhall at Selfridges on Oxford Street. It is called Snowflake Gelato, and they also have a few standalone stores across the capital.

Starting from the bottom, we had a victoria sandwich cake, only for it of course to have a vanilla and raspberry ice cream on the inside. And also a waffle type sandwich was there to share. On the middle tier was a macaroon, nutty chocolate cone, caramel canoli and a macaroon sandwich with white chocolate.

On top was a vanilla white chocolate cone, coconut canoli and raspberry sorbet macaroon! So much sweetness and it was so filling! Each item was of such quality, elegance and visual appeal. We also had an iced coffee and mocha included in the price of £15 per person. We consider this excellent value considering the premium location, food and service.

It goes without saying that if have a sweet tooth and a love for ice cream, this is quite simply, heaven!

£15 per person
