The Barn, Aroma & Burgermister | Berlin Day 2

Caught up with Day 1 and Day 3?

Our first proper full day in Berlin and what better way to start than have a relaxed morning getting ready and heading off to a cute coffee shop. We've been talking about how it seems to have been a while since we've stopped to get a coffee out (that isn't Starbucks) and thought this would be a place to start (as we all know coffee shops in Amsterdam aren't always what they seem).

Address - Auguststraße 58

As we do, we did a little foodie search and found The Barn, which later on realised a fellow couple bloggers like us (who blog purely about coffee) BeanThereAt have been here once before, so with that we knew we found ourselves a winner.

As well as a simple latte each, we grabbed ourselves a quick bite of the last two sandwiches they had left. Both equally as delicious, but anything with cheese wins with me! All perked up and ready to heard of to our first adventure, which of course you can read over on the travel blog.

After our first stop, we headed back to the area where we had dinner last night to meet my, Jessica's auntie for lunch, as she kindly invited us. We went around the corner of their equivalent of China Town for one of the best Chinese food around. We were definitely not disappointed! It's always good to have a mix of seafood and meat, to change it up a bit but James and I both agree that the prawns have been winning lately.

Address - Kantstraße 35

This was actually James' first time to have Dim Sum and to be honest, the first time we've probably had proper Chinese food from an actual Chinese restaurant (if you've eaten at Chop Chop, you'll know what I mean). Just like last night, we were stuffed as auntie really knows how to spoil us with the best dishes! Thank you auntie Girly!

Whist in Berlin, we of course had to do some research on the recommend places to eat and as you do, some cheap eats and with all the delicious food, we felt a dirty burger was much needed, and of course some cheesy fries. Although we say that, it wasn't as cheap as we'd thought considering we actually only bought one of each and shared, as we were seriously stuffed from lunch. We had however built up a little appetite while walking around the Berlin Walls, which you can read about here.

Address - Oberbaumstraße 8

  5. I love the look of the Chinese food! I always say I'm not a fan of it but it's because the only Chinese food I've tried is from a takeaway - I'd love to try something more authentic because it looks SO much better. I agree with Abbey too - those cheesy chips look amazing!

  6. I loved the street food in Berlin! I struggled to eat in restaurants because there weren't many vegetarian options, glad you're having such an amazing time x
