Restaurant: Tamper Coffee - Sellers Wheel, Sheffield

Grilled Mackerel Fillet - Wilted cos lettuce, popped cherry tomatoes, soft poached egg on sourdough - £8 - Jessica

Alas some of the independent coffee shops we love were open today! The next to conquer on our list was Tamper Coffee, which conveniently was the closest one to where we were staying!

We made our way in for lunch where Jessica opted for one of the daily specials, and I went for their classic Kiwi Burger. Don't be fooled - there aren't any kiwis in there, it's just that they are a New Zealand coffee shop!

Kiwi burger - homemade 7oz beef burger Pattie, ice burg salad, beetroot, charred pineapple, mature cheddar, fried egg on a seeded bun with tamper fat chips - £12 - James

That alongside their 'fat chips' was an absolute God send in my hour of hunger! Such perfection, I'm already pretty sure I know what I'm going to have next time we visit!

Whilst waiting for our table we noticed the take away cakes on show so finished proceedings with their lemon and coconut mini cake. Strong yet subtle flavours and soft sponge made it the perfect way to end the meal.

Lemon & coconut mini cake - £2.50

This place will never let us down and it's times like this which makes us love Sheffield!
