Lunch @ The Chester Grosvenor, Eastgate Street - Chester

Jessica & Olivia - Grosvenor Bun - Steak burger, Cheddar, Crisp Onion, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato - £14.95

And we are back in Chester, this time for Mum's birthday. After another early start to get here and presents and cards aplenty to open, we headed out to a small local village to watch Mum sing in her Rock Choir, and then straight into Chester for some lunch. But never did we think that we would end up at The Grosvenor!

Jessica and I have been here once before for Afternoon Tea, which was absolutely amazing. So even though we didn't have much time to prepare them, our expectations were sky high.

Dad & James - Westwood Ale Battered Haddock - Chunky chips, Mushy peas and Tartare sauce - £14.95

The building and environment were obviously stunning and we were extremely excited to have their Grosvenor burger, haddock and chips, and duck leg.

We have to admit to being slightly disappointed as it wasn't as great as our afternoon tea experience, but of course it was still very enjoyable in great company celebrating Mum's birthday.

Mum - Josper Croûte - Confit Gressingham Duck leg, Classic cassoulet, smoked Toulouse and Rocket - £13.95

From here we took a walk around the Roman Walls and did a spot of shopping. It left us enough time to be home for a little while and rest up before heading back out for dinner. It would do well to top lunch, so see our next post to see where we went!
