#FBbloggerseries: @younfolded

Welcome to the Food & Baker food blogger series, which every blogger, vlogger, tweeter is welcome because what human being doesn't like food(!?) This is a just a simple, quick and fun series of food related questions to just to get to know each other and meet new bloggers!

We are super grateful to everyone who are involved! Let's get started!

Introduction:

Hello, everyone! My name is Yentl, but all my close friends and family call me Nena, so I like my blogging family to refer me as that as well
I am 32 years old and was born and raised in Miami with a mixed Latin background. My mom is from Guatemala and my dad is from Venezuela; two very different cultures, but I love it!
Growing up in such a diverse city and family, I value individuality and encourage others to not be afraid to go against all odds. For this reason, my lifestyle blog, YOUnfolded, is about learning to unfold everything that makes up the unique qualities of YOU.
My blog covers various topics from workouts to recipes to exploring the world around you to not only embrace what we love, but also challenge ourselves to reach our dreams. I also have a weekly Pay It Forward Friday post to encourage everyone to use their unique qualities to uplift others and bring a little sunshine to our world.

Why did you start blogging?

My husband was the one that had been encouraging me to start a blog for years! He noted how I would watch YouTube videos and would be inspired by vloggers and bloggers so he told me I could do the same. He reminded me that we all have something different that we could bring to the table and that we each have an audience that we could reach and motivate.
My blog quickly became a way for me to use my creative qualities that I don’t otherwise get to share at my day job and I love the reciprocation of encouragement from fellow bloggers and non-bloggers alike

Three Random Facts

1. I live in Miami, Florida and it has been years since I have gone to the beach here
2. I speak more Spanish than English at my job because most of the clients are from South Florida (I work full-time from home as a health coach)
3. Although I work out often and have been doing so for years, I am not very flexible. I have trouble touching my toes!

Are you allergic to anything?

I am not allergic, but I am lactose-intolerant. I found out later in my mid-twenties and it was hard at first, but I got so used to it I don’t miss dairy at all!

What is your most favourite meal in the world?

Pasta! I could eat it all day, every day and not get tired or it. But we gotta watch our figure, right?!

Are you more of a savoury or sweet kind of person?

Savoury all the way! I don’t like cake or most sweet things, but I can easily indulge on tortilla chips and fresh salsa any day!

Do you have any weird food/eating habits?

If we have avocados, I like to mix them in with everything I eat. I’ll eat them with breakfast, put them in soups, mix them in with rice or pasta, you name it!

If you could travel anywhere in the world purely for its food, where would you go?

Italy for sure because, again, I love pasta!

What is your favourite meal in the day and why?

Breakfast for sure! I can’t start my day without some body fuel.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pasta gets a mention again!

What would be the "out of the ordinary" thing you've eaten?

Escargot (snails) and I actually enjoyed it!

Do you prefer to cook at home or eat out?

I love cooking at home because I get to experiment and I know exactly what is going in my food. Plus, when I eat out and like something my first thought is, “I gotta learn how to make this!”

Recipe: Pumpkin Soup

I made a creamy dairy-free and savory pumpkin soup for Thanksgiving last year that was a total hit! I am proud of it because I invented my own recipe and it feels good to know people truly enjoyed it

What's your favourite post of ours?

The Taco Poptarts are by far my fave! I do not have a sweet tooth and they look so easy and delicious! Similar to empanadas :-P
