#FBbloggerseries: @sayyestonewblog

Welcome to the Food & Baker food blogger series, which every blogger, vlogger, tweeter is welcome because what human being doesn't like food(!?) This is a just a simple, quick and fun series of food related questions to just to get to know each other and meet new bloggers!

We are super grateful to everyone who are involved! Let's get started!

My name is Ash Austin and I write for the blog Say Yes to New. SYTN is about taking risks and making changes. It fits in between lifestyle, food, fitness, and travel. The purpose is to encourage people that even small life changes can lead to big adventures.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I was annoyed that I had curated my social media presence around my art. I am a graphic designer and a comic book artist. Honestly, I wasn’t making time to draw and create, but I was still cooking, travelling, and working out. I started blogging as an outlet for these activities.

Three Random Facts

1. I love Hello Kitty.
2. I am the caretaker of an active kombucha SCOBY and sourdough starter.
3. My cat and I snuggle before bed, by which I mean, she lays on top of me and sticks her head between my chin and my neck. Occasionally she gets her wet nose on my face or sneezes.

Are you allergic to anything?

I am not allergic to anything…at least food related. I may be allergic to codeine, but I’m not sure what happens to me so this is up for dispute. Regardless I always inform my doctors of this fact.

What is your most favourite meal in the world?

This is very difficult for me to answer. I can however narrow it down to any dish that includes pasta as an ingredient. I know, that’s still very broad, but it includes ramen, lasagna, Vietnamese vermicelli bowls, macaroni and cheese, and a new found love Tinta de Calamari with Aglio Olio from The Daily Catch in Boston, MA.

Are you more of a savoury or sweet kind of person?

I love both, but I lean more savoury. Any time I chose sweet, I’m into it for about two bites, but then regret my commitment to the dish.

Do you have any weird food/eating habits?

Not really…but I’m curious to know yours!

If you could travel anywhere in the world purely for its food, where would you go?

Probably Japan or Korea. Both of their cuisines are super unique and I want to experience them from their source.

What is your favourite meal in the day and why?

To answer this question I will have to pretend it is when going to a restaurant. My daily meals are pretty much the same day in and day out. There is nothing more special than the other. With this in mind, Breakfast or Brunch are my favourite. I love diner coffee and a last minute mimosa. And I always order the classic breakfast: two eggs, some kind of meat, home fries, and toast. Sometime I even get a pancake.

Unicorn Pie

The dish I’m most recently proud of is this unicorn pie! It’s a simple cherry pie with unicorn cutouts, but I couldn’t get over how beautiful it came out.

What's your favourite post of ours?

My favourite post of yours was Vlog #2 in which you made those crazy freak milkshakes! I was so jealous and intrigued! How did you get all of those ingredients to fit!?!
