Dinner @ Pho - Westfield Stratford, London

Pho tai chin - steak and brisket - £8.50 - Jessica

As the Miss and Mr Phillipines UK date approaches, rehearsals step up, and Jessica's weekend's get taken up, so today has been spent largely apart. This weekend's rehearsals were taking place on the opposite side of London in Upton Park, so we met up in nearby-ish Stratford for some dinner.

A big appetite had been built up throughout the day, but empty stomachs were turned into a very content ones with this very flavoursome, and for us, different meal.

Pho bo vien - homemade beef meatballs - £8.50 - James

We've only ever had Vietnamese food together once before, at Cay Tre in Hoxton, but we were both yet to have the classic Pho dish. If you don't know, Pho is the national Vietnamese dish, rice noodle soup served with a side plate of fresh herbs. It is full of nutrition, vitamins and strong flavours, added to by a kick from the fresh chillies.

It was perfectly paired wish a fresh kale, pineapple and lime juice, and all in all it was a great and extremely filling meal - just what we were after!

However, as full as we were, we stumbled across a Crosstown Doughnut stall as we made our our way into the shopping area. Of course, Jessica couldn't resist and we ended up sharing two for £5. The raspberry jam one was great, whilst the banana and cinnamon was equally as impressive and packed with filling!
