#FBbloggerseries: @alohalolacards

Welcome to the Food & Baker food blogger series, which every blogger, vlogger, tweeter is welcome because what human being doesn't like food(!?) This is a just a simple, quick and fun series of food related questions to just to get to know each other and meet new bloggers!

We are super grateful to everyone who are involved! Let's get started!

Introduction

Aloha! My name is Claire and I am the illustrator behind Aloha Lola Cards! I have a little business making cute caricatures, blog banners and logos... basically any form of digital design!

Why did you start?

I am really creative and always found myself doodling in my spare time. I thought, if I could turn this passion into a job - wouldn't that be amazing? So I did!

Three Random Facts

1. I am a Northerner (born and raised!) but I have been told I have an accent of a Southerner. People tend not to believe me when I say I live near Liverpool!
2. I have had nearly every job under the sun! A technician, a journalist, retail, a cleaner, a baker, administrator, catering, youth worker, events organiser, PR assistant... The list goes on!
3. I am 30 this year. That's not random, that's just upsetting... Wahhhhh!

Are you allergic to anything?

Not to my knowledge! I am very fortunate!

What is your most favourite meal in the world?

Oh god, my most favourite meal... this is too hard! I love food! I love fish and chips, properly salted and from a seaside chippie (just feels like it's fresher although it probably isn't!) I love thai food too. Pad Thai is a fave. And cake. A big slice of birthday cake covered in double cream...

Are you more of a savoury or sweet kind of person?

I have the biggest sweet tooth. I will crave chocolate before crisps. I find when I am on a strict healthy eating plan I yearn for sugar, which is bad, but it feels so right!

Do you have any weird food/eating habits?

I don't think I have any weird eating habits... Although no matter how hard I try I end up getting food in my hair?! Like seriously, one time I went to an Italian restaurant and I came out with a piece of Pepperoni stuck to the back of my head. How??? No one knows how I manage it!

If you could travel anywhere in the world purely for its food, where would you go?

Thailand! I love how authentic and fresh everything is. So flavoursome! I would also love to try a breakfast from the USA. You know the one I'm talking about! A sky high stack of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon... just a heart attack waiting to happen.

What is your favourite meal in the day?

I think I like tea the best, because it can be so comforting at the end of the day. Plus it tends to be the biggest meal too!

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would say something light that wouldn't bloat me or balloon me! So something Thai, like noodles with a delicious sauce an assortment of chicken and veg. Look how healthy I am being. Aren't I good? Although I really want shredded crispy beef with chippy chips!

What would be the "out of the ordinary" thing you've eaten?

You know what, I am not adventurous with food. At all. I thought trying mussels and squid was adventurous. I liked mussels, I hated squid, the rubbery texture makes me feel queasy!

Do you prefer to cook at home or eat out?

A bit of both. I love eating out, it's just the novelty and also the gluttony of getting to order three courses and something naughty for dessert! But I do love it when you cooked something and you're like, oh my God, this actually tastes nice! Go me!

Whats your favourite post of ours?

As an illustrator I absolutely adore when animation meets food! So your Hello Kitty restaurant review excited me!

  1. I can't believe you've had so many jobs thats incredible! I'm also a Thai food lover and fellow clumsy eater/drinker. Just the other day I accidentally had one of my dreadlocks chilling in my coffee cup, whoops!
