Date Night: Up at the O2

Saturday afternoon was Date Night (okay day), and we we've had this one booked for a couple of weeks now. We've also wanted to do it for so long, so we were so excited for this day to finally come!

But first of all, we arrived with about an hour to fill before our time slot, so decided to go into the Sky Studios which is part of the 02 complex. We spent most of the time vlogging in here so unfortunately didn't get any pics! :/

It was full of lots of fun little activities to go through, especially if you have an interest in sport - particularly cycling and football. You'll have to watch the vlog to see all the fun that was had in there!

And then the main event... Up at the 02. This is basically climbing up the 02 arena, and when at the top you have your chances to take pictures and video, before taking the decline back down.

We were first given a safety briefing where we received the devestating news that we wouldn't be allowed to record it on the GoPro. Technology was only allowed at the top viewing platform.

We were handed out gilet, harness, and climbing shoes, and then after having our photo taken (which we got as a key ring at the end), we started the walk up!

It was a lot of hard work, especially as it was a hot day. Things got a little sweaty but it was so worth it. The height of 52m doesn't compare to a lot of London landmarks, but you really wouldn't want it to if you're climbing to the top. The views were still fantastic and it was a great and unique experience.

UPDATE: VLOG IS NOW LIVE

  1. This is such a cool activity to do, what an amazing experience. I'm terrified of heights so 52m looks enough for me! Awesome pictures :)

    1. You really should convince him, I'm scared of heights but to be completely honest, it wasn't that bad. Either the excitement over took my fear or the fact that (if this makes sense) that you can't actually see the ground? Because it's a dome shape, it didn't seem as scary if you was to look down? Haha (I'm not so great at explaining things)
