Date Night: Boris Bikes

For this Date Night, we thought we'd take it easy, something simple, yet, something we both haven't done together! Although, the start of this day didn't go as smoothly, it started to rain, and who wants to go bike riding in the rain, so we created  Plan B, which then realised it was not needed because by the time we had dinner and left the house, it was actually sunny!

We have spoken about doing this for a while now, even before he started living here - but I guess we just never got round to it and maybe, just maybe because Jessica was putting it off due to the fact that she thinks she can't ride a bike (go on, laugh, you know you want to) She can, but she's not too big on riding on roads (which you have to here or bike lanes) and she's not too keen on doing sharp turns.

But regardless of that, we had to do it at least once and Thursday Date Night was the day! Before taking off, there of course, had to be some sort of plan, we're all for spontaneity, but we didn't want to ride aimlessly or get lost and end up way too far, so be decided to being our journey at Hyde Park corner and attempted to follow this route we found on this website here.

Hyde Park at Leisure average riding time 30mins

As you can see, it was basically going around the whole thing, but we didn't exactly go this way - actually, unless it was riding outside of the park, this route is not actually 'allowed' - you'd be surprised to know that there is A LOT of parts of the park that claims to be 'no cycling' - We never ended up by the Queensway side, but we did go through the middle, across the waters, going back on ourselves and just went with the wind!

We may or may not have accidentally went through some 'no cycling' parts - but no one was around and we promise it was an accident and it was getting dark in there!

It was definitely something different, worked out them legs, as James said it was relaxing, I on the other hand loved it, but started getting anxious with the amount of people there was around and then the darkness - but other than the minor panic I had, it was lovely and scenic, the weather was just right!

After this work out, we thought since we'd already had dinner, we'd go out for some well deserved dessert - but is dessert what we got? NO! Did we even get dessert? NO Gah, blame James! But regardless, the Jumbo Platter Starter has always been a main to share for two!

Overall, this has probably been the most relaxing Date night we've had and maybe we'll start making a habit of doing some cycling now and then :)
