Dinner @ Bill's -The Bullring, Birmingham

Avacado, bacon and spinach salad - with croutons, Bills dressing and pecorino cheese - £8.95 - Jessica

Yes that's right, we've been in Birmingham today. Bit of an odd one we know, but we came here for the sole purpose of going to Cadbury World, which is in nearby Bournville. There will be a special post for our visit there going up on Tuesday, so I won't say much about it now.

Bills fish pie - cod, salmon, smoked salmon, prawns, peas, roasted baby onions, mustard and cheddar mash - £12.95 - James

From there we came back into Birmingham, and conviniently next to New Street station, where our trains to and from London were, is The Bullring shopping centre. This is where we were able to do a bit of shopping and have our dinner before we departed.

After a chocolate filled day, we only fancied something light and as we knew Bill's does great salads, although we've never had one, we came here. We luckily spotted it through the window of Forever 21!

Warm cinnamon mini doughnuts - with fresh strawberries and warm chocolate sauce - £5.50

I, James ended up going for the all time favourite of fish pie, and Jessica went for the avacado and bacon salad - both very tasty and well presented! The staff were so friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed  early Saturday evening - made even better by being able to sit outside with the sub shining!

  1. I have to admit, I've never hugely enjoyed a meal at Bill's - I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is, as the food has never been 'spot on' for me. The salad looks so good though!

    1. Interesting to know what other think about a place, it was our first time there and it was one on our list to go to as many tak about it, I don't think it was that bad but I know what you mean about the price, as much as the salad was great, I didn't think it needed to cost that much but hey, it was worth the experience!

  2. I really liked Bills. We stayed in Hammersmith at an airbnb property last year and ate at the Bills around the corner a few times. We had breakfasts, lunches and dinners there and we all liked it. Can't really comment on the price because a lot of things seem expensive in London as a tourist from Australia :) I would happily go back next time I am lucky enough to travel there :)
