Lunch @ The Alyssum Cafe Bistro - Barber Road, Sheffield

Meze platter for 2 - kefte meat, cheese, house salads, olives, house special, homemade houmous, tzatziki, melitzanosalata (aubergine dip), with artisan breads - £14

So as I mentioned I'm now without my car, so this weekend has included walks, buses, and now an uber - although to be fair, we did need a taxi if we were to come here - and we definitely wanted to... and we're definitely glad we did!

I know we say this a lot, but this place is cute! There was a lovely warm welcome, and just little things such as an 'enter as strangers, leave as friends' sign gives this place a homely and friendly feel. It's really small, but wasn't full in the time we were there, so this wasn't a problem.

After originally wanting a sandwich, I was persuaded to have this platter instead - and I'm glad I did! As we were going to a Greek place after never really trying this kind of food before, it only made sense to go with this! And as there was an option for it to be for two people, it was perfect!

We both really enjoyed every part of it and it was the perfect amount to fill us up but still have room to share an Eton Mess Bar, which was also just scrumptious!

Afterwards we took a stroll into the centre which took about 30mins, to go to the Odeon to watch 'Bad Neighbours 2.' We were torn between this and 'Jungle Book,' so maybe we'll go and watch that one at some point in the week!
