Dinner @ Red's True BBQ - Ecclesall Road, Sheffield

James - Sticky Chicken - 1/2 an oak-smoked chicken, with Unholy BBQ sauce - £12.95

From the last coffee shop, we headed straight home for a nap - I developed such a headache while we were out.

Last night, we tired booking for a table but it seems that they were all booked up, luckily James came into Red's earlier today to ask, and if they did to book a table, as you all know I go home on Sunday evenings, fortunately they had space but for 5:30, so we took it and we're very glad we did!

James - Brewdog Punk IPA - £4.75
Jessica - Honey Berry Smash - £6.95

This place had recently opened up in Sheffield - we have seen the London and Leeds branch, but had never went in, so given the chance here, of course we had to try it out.

Such amazing customer service from our waitress Louise, she was always on point and came at the right times and reassured us with timings and asked if everything was okay.

The food reached its expectations - although you would look at it and be like that wouldn't be enough to fill me (my eyes are bigger than my stomach tbh) but woah, it definitely filled me, but to a good point, nearly dying but okay to still have dessert hahaha

Jessica - 1/2 Rack of Red's Baby Back Ribs - £9.50

Also, shout out to Luke, who booked us in and welcomed us to our table, explained the board and everything. Can you tell we appreciate great customer service? It's really hard to come by these days and especially with recent events, it's nice to have that true welcome.

Kentucky Trifle - Cream Soda & bourbon-soaked sponge, malted whip pudding, pretzels, popping candy and marshmallows - £4.95

It has been a lovely weekend, but this is sadly the start of the longest gap we would have this year - I won't be in Sheffield next weekend, nor will James be in London - but don't you worry, there is a very good explination and all a part of a big plan, which will all be revealed in less than two weeks!

Make sure to watch our recent YouTube video and stay updated the throughtout our gap on our social media listed below.

Coffee @ Oakbrook Coffee House - Oakbrook Road, Sheffield

James - Iced Latte - Ice cream, shot of espresso and a bottle of milk - £3.00
Jessica - Iced Mocha - Ice cream, shot of espresso and a bottle of milk - £3.00

After brunch, we headed into "town" hoping that I would get my Steam Yard doughnut, but as usual, they were sold out! Ugh they are just THAT good! Oh blah.

Then we just walked around some shops and bought some essentials from boots, and other window/inspiration shopping.

So here we are, at another coffee shop like we said we would be - coffee number 15! Weyy nearly there - although we know that there is another on the list that was literally two doors down, but I think this is enough coffee for today.

I'm sure you would have noticed by now that James mostly gets a latte and I, mostly get a mocha - so just to change it up a bit, we went for Iced.. which came as a nice surprise - as you can see from the picture above, we was not expecting it to come like that, although it did give it a nice change to our usual routine.

The place was very relaxed and comfortable, like somewhere you would take your grandma out for tea (oh and we also found out they do afternoon tea there) - exactly the type of feel we was hoping for, with James being all stressed trying to find a parking space, causing me to have a headache haha

So dinner will be early tonight as it was the only booking time we could get - really excited for it actually, so look out for that later!

Brunch @ The Rude Shipyard - Abbeydale Road, Sheffield

James - Meat Breakfast - Gluten free sausage, bacon, fried egg, grilled tomato, Heinz baked beans, potato cakes and toasted soda bread - £7.50

This morning started as every Sunday does, slightly lazy and we were also held back a bit due to James' car but all is good now!

Since we've only got a few more days left in Sheffield over the next few weeks, we are trying to fit in the rest of the independent coffee shops listed on Independent Sheffield's 21 best cups of coffee in Sheffield - this would now be number 14!

James - Latte in a mug - £2.40
Jessica - Mocha in a mug - £2.80

We are so pleased to say that James actually remembered to ask for our coffee to be extra hot, since we've been discussing how they always come luke warm and we know some people like that, but I'm a slow drinker and James just like his hot and drinks it very quickly.

Jessica - Eggs Royale - Toasted English muffin topped with two poached eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce - £6.00

Since it nearly being midday, we thought it would be a good idea to grab some brunch while we are here and also with our independent Sheffield card, our coffees would be free with our main meal (upgrade to large for £1)

While looking for somewhere to sit, we got suggested to go upstairs to the room on the right, little did we know it was basically a room for us - which was different but really nice. The whole place is covered in books and visually pretty to look at.

Rude Shipyard soup - Mushroom and tarragon served with fresh bread - £4.50

The people were lovely and very welcoming. Our coffees came first, followed by our meals, which came very quickly actually. It was very filling and such good value for money - I've been craving my eggs with hollandaise sauce for a while now, so I'm happy to get that craving fulfilled!

We are hoping to fit in one more coffee shop today, just for the coffee and a brownie if there is one (we all know James loves his brownies)

PS - James is becoming really rubbish at bringing our contact cards out, so apologies The Rude Shipyard for his incompetence.

Lunch @ Sheffield

Chicken and mushroom enchiladas with pizza express doughballs

Time was flying by, so straight from Upshot espresso we headed to Tesco to by our lunch and a few bits and bobs for this weekends YouTube video - so make sure to look out for that tomorrow!

As you can imagine, we recorded our YouTube video as soon as we got home and went straight into making lunch. Nothing out of the ordinary and just about enough time before James had to leave me for work.

We, of course chose to do something quick and simple, but so delicious in flavour - we used the Old El Paso brand and followed the box instructions and bought some extras, as well as adding in mushrooms!

While James works, I'll be editing some videos and snaking on all 40 packets of crisps hahaha

Coffee @ Upshot Espresso - Glossop Road, Sheffield

James - Cuppacino - £2.60
Jessica - Matcha Latte - £3.00

Since we had breakfast at home, we decided to kill two birds with one stone and come out for coffee to continue the 21 best cups of coffee in Sheffield (you guys must seriously be tired to reading that) but anyway, we tried to come last week, but we didn't realise they are closed on Sunday's.

As soon as we walked it, James was impressed with their welcome, so upbeat - already such good vibes.

There were books by the window that were for sale, one which caught my eye, beat independent coffees on the north, which I bought we should buy - maybe we will at some point.

Looking over at the other tables, their food so good, well presented just as I like and they even had matcha pancakes, which I defo would love to try. We agreed we would come back soon for the food (I only we didn't eat at home)

Unfortunately, we did think that the coffee was way too cold, it wasn't even like warm, it may be our fault, as we should start stating to have it more hotter - usually I never realise how cold my coffee is until I'm half way, because I always think it's just the froth at the top, so I didn't want to return it after drinking half of it.

Nevertheless, it did taste great and we would come back for the food!

Breakfast @ Sheffield

Avocado rose sprinkled with lemon and chilli powder on toast with a poached egg

Good morning to you all! As every weekend starts, I arrived late last night and super hungry may I add - so inevitably James was obliged to drive me somewhere to get me food or else I become the hulk! Hahaha we ended up in Tesco and bought quick food and another box of 40 walkers crisps hahaha

Once we hit home, I of course made my food and we watched "what to expect when you're expecting" and no,  don't even dare read into that - it's a film haha

We went to bed super late around 3am but that didn't stop me from getting up at 9 this morning to prep for my first attempt of making an avocado rose and my first breakfast in bed for James. He didn't even notice I was gone and he woke up in some panic hahaha bless him!

Going to get ready now and take a nice walk to continue our coffee tour.

Dinner @ Sheffield

Salmon and potato bake

Once home from the ice cream farm, we lazed around watching Pointless Blog videos to be honest, and I had to fit in a little bit of uni work.

This dinner was relatively quick to make (compared to lunch anyway), and we had it about an hour before Jessica's train, which was at 8.30.

Bakewell tart - Jessica - £2.10
Mint choc chip and toffee, with fudge pieces - James - £2.95

This afternoon we ventured out to Our Cow Molly Ice Cream Farm, which was super good! We obviously got ice cream and also a big carton of milk, which came fresh from the cows today!

There wasn't as much there as we thought there would be, but there were new born calves which we're really cute! And also a little aggressive as one tried to head butt Jessica's camera haha!

The ice cream and milk is stocked in shops around the city, so maybe we'll get some to have at home soon!

It's been another great weekend, and although we don't have a video for you this weekend, check out our other posts and previous videos of you haven't seen (or if you like us that much and want to watch some again!)

Have a lovely week guys!

Coffee @ Cafe #9 - Nether Edge Road, Sheffield

Mocha - £2.80, Chocolate brownie - £2, Cinnamon rolls - £1.50

So I know it was our original plan to go to Upshot Espresso for our afternoon coffee today as it was the closest home, but as it was closed, we changed plan and came here. Since we only have a few weeks left in Sheffield, and we have 9 coffee shops left to visit, we needed to fit one in today! We knew exactly where it was as it was opposite Homemade by Thelma's.

This place gave off a very local feel, as the owner was very relaxed and friendly, there were local adverts against the till area, and it had a slightly less than unpolished feel. But this isn't a bad thing, it gives the place the identity it is clearly aiming for, and it was more or less full the whole time we were there, so it's clearly working!

We are now off to 'Our Cow Molly Ice Cream Farm.' The ice cream is apparently amazing so we have high hopes!

Lunch @ Sheffield

Honey glazed roasted pork, roast potatoes and asparagus

As I told you we would, we had some late night eating once I was home from work yesterday. But it was no McDonalds this time, we took a trip to the big Tesco and bought some ready meals and Pizza Express dough balls, and ate them whilst watching Britains Got Talent.

As you can probably guess from that, we went to bed and got up pretty late, but luckily Jessica already had done most of the work for this dinner the day before. It was beautifully marinating overnight ready to go straight in the oven for an hour and a half today.

This was again something that was on the Tasty Facebook page, so we thought to try out this as its close enough to a Sunday roast and we've been wanting to do one for a while.

Lunch @ Couch - Ecclesall Road, Sheffield

Chicken breast burger with Cajun sweet potato wedges - £9.00 - Jessica

After our breakfast at Marmadukes, Jessica had a bit of a Boots haul and bought loaaaaads of make up! It took quite some time but not that she needs it, but she's looking extra beautiful as I sit here writing this blog!

There was also a quick visit to H&M where a couple more tops were bought, before heading to do our food shopping for the weekend.

A little taste of Italy sandwich - rosemary and sea salt focaccia filled with a tangy pesto, mozzarella, chicken, honey roasted ham and finally topped with wild rocket - £7.75

We bought something for lunch for us only to realise that it would take at least two hours to prepare and cook, so there was a late change of plan which led us here. But we shall not waste it, we shall have it tomorrow!

It was our original plan to come here tomorrow for breakfast but in our efforts to finish all 21 coffee shops, we'll go to a different one tomorrow instead now and at least that will be one more ticked off the list!

Unfortunately, we will not be uploading a video tomorrow as usual, after a carefully discussed decision, we concluded on an this break and will presume the follow week - please expect small changes in the next few weeks, but if you follow us on Twitter, you should know, all will be revealed soon!

Latte - £2.35 - James
Chai latte - £2.40 - Jessica

This place is literally a minutes walk from home so it's again, a surprise this is our first time! The food was really tasty and the portion sizes were perfect, and the atmosphere was great for a chilled out Saturday afternoon.

Something a little different as well was that a man had his own table where he would draw portraits of you for free, although donations are welcome. We didn't have time for it but there is the option to send in a picture so you can pick it up when it's done - so I think we'll be doing that!

So I'm off to work now! I'm predicting a late finish tonight so expect some story about late night eating tomorrow! We have a full day tomorrow with a couple of really nice homemade meals planned! So check back then!

Brunch @ Marmadukes - Norfolk Row, Sheffield

Marmadukes Full English - sweet chilli sausage, dry cured bacon, fried egg, thyme roasted tomato, field mushroom, homemade beans, toasted deli rye (Jessica's with added avocado +£2.50) - £9

Last night was full of little surprises! As I was meant to be finishing work afterJessica's arrival, she was preparing herself for a taxi ride alone instead of her ride home from her usual driver, me! But I finished early, didn't tell her and was there on the platform waiting for her (but we did still have to get a taxi haha)

She surprised me with a cookies and cream cupcake from Lola's, I surprised her with flowers and chocolates when we got home, and finally Jessica kindly had bought me a budget planner which I saw last week in Paperchase! Very romantic we are this weekend!

Macchiato - £2.40 - James
Latte - £2.80 - Jessica

Today we were up fairly early as we don't want to waste the day! It's being cut short as I have work again later on, and we have food shopping to do and a video to record this afternoon. So we thought it would be best to get up!

Scotch pancakes - vanilla berry compote,  oat streusel with mascarpone - £7.50

We headed here as its is again an Indepedent Sheffield coffee shop, and after walking past it so many times since being in Sheffield for nearly two years, it was finally time to go in! Turns out we should've done this a long time ago as the food was absolutely delicious - so much so we went back for seconds and shared the pancakes. The place is small, cute, and it's got that independent feel that we love! We may say that a lot about places we visit, but it never gets old!

We're off now into town for a bit of a make up shop - well Jessica is, I'll just watch haha! And then we'll get on with our food shop and video when we get home.

Brunch @ Lucky Fox - Division Street, Sheffield

Lucky Shake (details in the last post from Lucky fox but with the completed doughnut!) - £6.50

Okay, I know what you're thinking, what kind of brunch is that? Well, I know I just posted like 20 minutes ago that James planned all meals etc, well this wasn't one of them.

We walked past Lucky Fox, on the way to John Lewis, to buy James a new frying pan (don't ask) and we couldn't help but mention the amazing shake we had from there but was missing the doughnut and we did say we would come back to have the full experience and so we did..

Breakfast Fries - housecut fries served with our homemade smoke tomato ketchup and two free-range eggs - £5

Luckily, unlike last time, we didn't have to wait long for a table, as there was some free and by the window with the lovely sunshine on my back!

Being the fatties we are, we couldn't just come and have a milkshake without having some sort of proper food in our system (haha no the bagel and brownie was not enough - we did share it after all)

But don't you fear, the original plan of meals will still be in order, just the timing will be off, which was discussed to work out better anyway, due to the fact that we are going to a gig later in Doncaster to see Catfish and the Bottlemen!

Coffee @ Ink & Water - West One, Sheffield

James - Latte - £2.20
Jessica - Mocha - £2.40

After a very busy weekend in London last week, it isn't all bad to be in back in the very quite Sheffield (says the Londonder)

Got on my usually train last night and arrived at my usual time. Bless James, he had such a long day and had work and was still able to collect me at 11pm.

He also came with coke, orange juices, ciders and Krispy Kreme doughnuts!

Light bite - Bagel - £3.50

Last night we caught up with last week's and the last episode of Saturday night takeaway - so we ended up sleeping pretty late, hence the last start to this morning.

James had planned all meals this weekend and as the last time we were in Sheffield, Ink & Water was closed so we decided to go this morning.

Triple choc brownie - £2.90

We were aware that they're speciality was in coffee and not food but as this was one of the places was on our tour of the best coffee shops in Sheffield, we came anyway and had a small bite and of course James couldn't resist the brownie.

The food and coffee was great, made even better by our Independent Sheffield card which gave us 15% off!
