Lunch @ Melrose, Brighton Seafront

Seafood platter - scampi, whitebait, calamari, fried cod, chips and salad - £7.75 - Jessica

We arrived in Brighton at 09.45 and went straight to our hotel to drop our luggage since we can't check in until 3. We have no cement plans for the day, just ideas, so since we have plenty of time, we went for a wander along the seafront to see what we could find.

We inevitably ended up on Brighton Pier, and walked through the arcade (we'll go back later to use the machines!) The fairground also doesn't open until later, so we may try out a couple of things there too!

Fillet of haddock with chips, mushy peas and salad - £9.50 - James

Before Jessica knew she was coming here, we were watching 'Rise of the Superstar Vloggers,' where Jim Chapman took a ride on the Brighton Wheel. Jessica said she wanted to go, but little did she know she would be in just a couple of weeks! So after the pier that is what we did!

It was £8 each for a ride, or £10 for a ride with a drink of beer or wine, soooo alcohol at 12.15 in the afternoon it was!

We also had our picture taken so we bought them in a cute pack of prints, a key ring and magnet, complete with a book on the history of Brighton.

So now it was lunch time, and you can't come to the spiritual home of fish and chips without getting fish and chips, so as recommended by TripAdvisor, here we are...
